Your Green Thumb
2025 is our first full growing season on our new roof!
NEW GARDENERS
So far the waiting list is shorter than the number of gardens available…which is fantastic!
And our two huge Community Gardens are looking for volunteers. So there's room for your green thumb on the new roof. We need waters and weeders, but also those with planning, planting and administrative experience.
If you'd like to apply for a garden, or volunteer for the Community Gardens please contact: roof110garden@gmail.com and put Garden Waitlist or Volunteer in the subject line
PREVIOUS GARDENERS
We have been without our Roof Garden for a while and for some your lives may have changed. Please let us know if you think you are unable to garden this year. You may know you are ready to give you garden up, or you may simply need a break. If a gardener has health issues, they can ask and we will do our best to help care for the garden in the meantime. There are others who may waiting for garden and you can give them a chance to dig in!
GARDEN GUIDELINES
Garden Guidelines that are still being finalized but hard rules include:
We encourage plants that encourage pollinators..NO poisonous or invasive plants
NO trees, bushes or plants with long roots - this is advice from engineers. We don't want to see roof cracks from roots again!
Let plants be foremost!
Please avoid using obtrusive trellises or statuary, let’s keep the views open
Gardens MUST be cared for they may be reassigned
Decorations that dominate are strongly discouraged
