Are You Eligible?
PAL Toronto’s mandate is to help and create and encourage programs and services for older, disabled or needy members and associates of Canada’s professional performing arts community in the areas of health, well-being and affordable accommodation. It is a pre-requisite that at least one member of the application is working, or has worked as a performing artist, or in an associated occupation in Canada.
The City of Toronto allows PAL to exclusively cater to those in the performing arts community. There are no age limitations; however, applicants for residency must have devoted a substantial portion of their working life to the professional performing arts and associated crafts.
Effective January 2020, the application process for RGI accommodation is in three stages.
-approval for mandate
- credit check
-in-person interview (update - At the present time we are suspending all interviews for RGI applicants)
All potential applicants must download the Application Checklist Document. This document describes the PAL Mandate and also provides details all of the pre-requisite documentation required for each application to PAL Toronto. A signed copy of this checklist MUST be presented with your application. Failure to provide the necessary criteria will delay and could potentially disqualify the application. Please note that applicants can only apply to Rent Geared to Income at this time.

Owing to the current Covid 19 medical emergency, the Residential Accommodation Committee (RAC) will be unable to meet until further notice and therefore are postponing the decision to re-open the Market Value waiting list.
Applications for RGI accommodation will be held in order of date received.

If you submit an application directly to the City, you will be directed back to us and back to here to complete all of our required application details. You will not be accepted by the City for PAL's waiting list by any other route.
