Are You Eligible?
Applicants for residency must have devoted a substantial portion of their working life to the professional performing arts and associated occupations.

PAL Toronto’s mandate is to create helpful programs and services for older, disabled or needy members and associates of Canada’s professional performing arts community, and to provide affordable accommodation.

There are 205 units, two thirds of which are Rent Geared to Income (RGI). The remaining one third rent at Market Value. There are no specific age limitations to apply.

Market Value Applications
At this time, we are not accepting Market Value applications. Owing to the current Covid-19 medical emergency, the Residential Accommodation Committee (RAC) is postponing the decision to re-open.

Rent Geared to Income Applications
Two thirds of PAL Toronto’s bachelor and one-bedroom units are available at rent-geared-to-income (RGI), as outlined in the Housing Services Act 2011. You will find the Access to Housing RGI application form HERE.

Applicants must also download the Application Checklist, which outlines all the documents you need to apply.
Click HERE to download the Application Checklist.  Once completed, please sign and attach to your application package.

Your application, checklist, and documents can be scanned and emailed to admin@paltoronto.org or mailed to:

RGI Application Process
All applications are reviewed by the Residential Accommodation Committee (RAC) of PAL Toronto and consists of these three steps:
- Review of application and professional resume
- Reference check
- In-person interview (At the present time we are suspending all interviews for RGI applicants)

All applicants will be notified in writing when their application has been either approved or declined.
Successful applications for RGI accommodation will be placed on the Access to Housing, City of Toronto waiting list, in order of date received. Currently, a typical wait time for a one-bedroom could be 5-7 years.

(Please note: Access to Housing, City of Toronto, will not accept your application for PAL Toronto until it has been approved by our Residential Accommodation Committee (RAC).
