The Celebrity Club

REOPENING FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 12, 2008, WITH SPECIAL GUEST DAVID FINDLAY.

Check the Events link for special occasions.

The Celebrity Club is for the enjoyment of residents of PAL Place, their occasional guests and paid-up members of PAL Toronto and PAL Canada.

Its objective is to provide a convivial social gathering place for residents and supporters of the performing arts, to encourage both organized and spontaneous entertainment by volunteers for the enjoyment of all, to engage in other activities that celebrate the diversity of PAL, and to act as a regular fund-raiser for PAL Toronto.

The Club will be run on a not-for-profit basis and any excess revenues will be used for PAL Toronto charitable purposes.

Policies and procedures governing the operation of the club, as required by the Liquor License Act, can be downloaded in pdf format by clicking here, or obtained at the PAL Toronto office, Suite 328.

The Club re-opened in March 2006 after several months of renovations. For many years before that the Club had been managed on a volunteer basis by resident Arthur Voronka. Prior to that the facility was organized by George Dick, another resident.

The Celebrations of the first anniversary of re-opening included a St. Patrick's Day concert by singer and pianist James Moyer. The Club is currently co-managed on a volunteer basis by residents Nigel Napier-Andrews and Amanda Smith.

Donations to the Club renovations and upgrading of the sound, lighting and television were gratefully received from the RBC Foundation, Frischkorn AV, and Sight N Sound, whose contributions are recorded on a plague, along with many individual donors and volunteers who gave so generously of their time.

The Celebrity Club bar phone number is 416-955-1892.
